The first utilises the gigantic store of content related metadata, synopsis, keyword, genres etc. It even indexes cast, producers, directors and production companies. The individual title records are "broken down2" into their constituent parts, items are then ranked based on several factors such as uniqueness, their regular appearance alongside other words and phrases.

The system then builds a sophisticated understanding of the relationship between everything in the database and then builds all this information into a vast matrix which allows it to be interrogated at lightning speed. This approach allows us to derive meaning from a synopsis way beyond what is written down and our users can understand similarity in several different dimensions way beyond the standard recommendation engines you will experience when watching your favourite streaming service.

Secondly, we have partnered with a market leading neural network platform in the content recognition space. This technology is designed to replicate the "human" experience of a movie of TV episode and so looks to understands complex emotional interactions and responses beyond merely point out objects on screen.

The first version of the Marketplace which we are currently in the final developmental stages of, will allow users to simply make offers and negotiate on deals. There is a suggestion that marketplaces could ‘commoditise’ content and make a process steeped in the ‘art of the deal’ become entirely transactional and that is something we don’t want to force. To that extent we have to earn the right to have our clients build and process financial and legal transactions within the system but we believe by offering these options, and not asking for the earth in terms of commission we will get there.
